Here are some guidelines for handling and storing Rainbow™ color proofs.
Storage
- Important! You can store Rainbow™ proofs in plastic sleeves if the sleeves are polyester, NOT acetate! If you have any doubts about the composition of the plastic sleeves, store the proofs in paper envelopes and folders.
- Store finished Rainbow™ proofs away from heat and light. Do not store Rainbow™ proofs in a car or expose them to the sun for a prolonged period of time (two hours or more).
- Do not fold Rainbow™ proofs in half or store them image-to-image, as dye may migrate in the presence of heat and/or pressure.
Handling
- Always handle Rainbow™ proofs by the edges to avoid fingerprinting and smearing the proof.
- If you fingerprint a proof, immediately wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove finger oils.
- Do not leave Rainbow™ proofs in illuminated light booths for extended periods of time (days). Visible changes may occur.
- Sprays containing solvents or alcohol will cause bleeding or blurring of dyes.
